I updated my router to OpenWRT BackFire yesterday. As I use OpenDNS and dyndns.org, I use DNS-O-Matic for updating both at the same time. Sadly this service is not known by most routers out of the box. But it was very easy to add it to OpenWRT. All you need is the luci-apps-ddns module and add a custom ddns account.
Most settings are straight forward: username, password... The tricky one is the Update-URL:
http://[USERNAME]:[PASSWORD]@updates.dnsomatic.com/nic/update?hostname=[DOMAIN]&myip=[IP]&wildcard=NOCHG&mx=NOCHG&backmx=NOCHG
Simply paste that in that field. The ddns update script will replace those variables. As you want to update all at once, there is the special hostname all.dnsomatic.com that will do that for you.
Ddns
Interesting...i'll try it @home on my Fonera 2.0g/n if it works
the current one (2.3.6 firmware) still uses iz-update and only supports "dyndns"...I like to have it support more than that (also dyndns feature is dead since a few releases but FON developers refuse to believe it...and their test cycle doesn't encompass a test duration >24h :( (Adsl reconnect timeframe is 36h)
